Dark Return Sneak Peek and Giveaway

Hey everyone, how are you? Read anything really good lately - please share? I keep hearing great things about 50 Shades of Grey! Haha, I actually helped my mom download it to her new Kindle today! I'm also starting The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa tonight. I'm so excited to read it! :)

If you've read my debut novel, Dark Seeker, are you looking forward to the 2nd book in the Seeker series, Dark Return? If so, I would be happy to share a sneak peek into Dark Return, due out at the end of the year (2012). Well, because it's fun (and I love giving things away), I decided to turn the "sneak peek" into a game.

To wet your appetite, so to speak, here is a look into Dark Return. You'll notice a new player in the game.

Leah pivoted and approached Kai. “You can’t kill me. I was made with you—one of the first. You loved me. Anyway, humanity has made you weak.” She appraised him. “Although, I’d have to say it’s also made you quite handsome.” She studied his face. “Your eyes used to be green, but not this green. It suits you." She touched his face. "You’re quite pretty.” Leah ran her hand down his cheek, catching a white highlight between her fingers.
Kai swatted her hand away. “I will kill you if you come to Baltimore. Consider this your only warning. If you take one step toward Janie—” He laughed. “Never mind, I won’t have to do anything. Janie is plenty capable of taking you out on her own.”

Want more? All you have to do is spread the word! Let your friends (online and personal) and family know about Dark Seeker and my new YA paranormal romance, Whispering Hills, using word of mouth, twitter, facebook, goodreads, etc. Place the twitter, facebook, etc. links in the comments section. To add to the fun, I will randomly pick one person to WIN a signed copy of Dark Seeker and a signed copy of Dark Return when it is released. You can post as many comments with links as you'd like throughout the week, increasing your chance at winning. The more you spread the word, the better chance you have at winning.

All comments must be made before midnight eastern time on Wednesday, April 25th. I will announce the winner and share more of Dark Return on Thursday, April 26th. The winner has 24 hours to e-mail me at tarynbrowning@hotmail.com.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to tell us what great books you've read lately! :)

Have a great rest of the week!

Also, thank you to all of the participating bloggers. This tour is going to be so much fun! <3

Description:

For as long as she can remember, 17-year-old Alexis Forbes can hear the thoughts of others. Most recently, she is disturbed by the dark, unfamiliar voice of a frightening killer: callous, cunning, charismatic…and dead. She hears his every sinister thought. But she can’t tell anyone. No one would believe her. Alexis is suddenly being haunted by a terrifying past she doesn’t remember, and a ghost with a serious score to settle. Even Chance, the gorgeous new guy she’s falling for, has his own ghostly secret. He’s definitely not like any guy she’s ever met. Alexis soon discovers she has a connection to the dead and it runs much deeper than she could ever imagine. And if the sociopathic entity has his way, she’ll finally be sentenced to the fate she escaped thirteen years ago.

Whispering Hills will be available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords on March 19th. I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved writing it. Happy Reading !! :)

All the best,
Taryn

The Many Formats of Reading

I'm reading 3 books right now...yes, 3. This is what happens when you read hard copies, have a Kindle, and of course, a CD player in your car to listen to audiobooks -- and let me tell you, they have a great selection of audiobooks at the library. The next thing I'll be doing is listening to and reading books on my iPhone. Nope, I'm limiting myself to 3. There are only so many characters and story lines I can keep track of at one time.

The wonderful Heather Robbins from SupaGurl Books sent me a personalized copy of Clockwork Prince, #2 in the Infernal Devices. Thanks, love *sends hugs your way*! I am over halfway done and LOVING this book. I find I read this at night before I go to bed. I like to snuggle into bed and open it up in the complete quiet. This is why I'm not finished already, lol. The chapters are long so I only get a chapter or 2 in before I fall asleep. I do fall asleep very happy though. Awesome book!

On my Kindle I am reading Descended by Blood, which is also a great read. My Kindle says I'm about 50% finished. I bring my Kindle everywhere, so I love to pull it out while I'm waiting for appointments, etc. or downstairs hanging out with the family. My Kindle is always with me.

Last but not least, I am listening to Wolfsbane on audiobook. I'm at the very end of Wolfsbane and can't wait to see how it ends. I listened to it on a trip this weekend and of course I pulled into my driveway at the very end. Now I wish I'd just sat in the driveway and finished. I NEED to know what happens...

Oh yeah, and did I mention I am also working on Dark Return, due out at the end of this year. I'm so excited about Book #2 in the Seeker Series.

Do you find that with more options for reading (electronic, hard copy, audio) that you are reading a lot more books at the same time? If so, how do you feel about it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Cheers!! :)
